*GR MAATIN was named a 2009 Egyptian Event Top Ten World Class Colt. His pedigree is invaluable as he comes from the breeding program of the Eschers of Gestut Rothenberg in Germany , one of the most successful breeders of straight Egyptian horses in Europe , whose horses have won major titles in Europe and the Middle East . The Eschers have always emphasized breeding horses that are excellent Arabians, regardless of color, so *GR MAATIN’s black color is a bonus added to his excellent conformation and breed type.

*GR MAATIN comes from the breed’s most successful sire line descending from SHAIKH AL BADI, a sire line that has produced U.S. National Champion Stallion and National Champion sire ALI JAMAAL, U.S. Reserve National Champion Stallion THEE DESPERADO, who is the leading living Egyptian sire of champions, and World Champion Stallions and National Champion sires *GAZAL AL SHAQAB and *MARWAN AL SHAQAB.

*GR MAATIN’s sire MAHEEB is a full brother to Arabica ( Germany ) Champion Stallion and Emerald Egyptian Event ( Belgium ) Champion Stallion MANGALEE IBN SHADWAN. MAHEEB is a 3/4 brother to German Reserve National Champion Fillies SHADWANAH and GR AMARETTA, to Middle East Champion Mare SAIDA BINT SHAHLIA and to German National Champion Stallion, Egyptian Event Europe Champion Stallion and National Champion sire GR AMARETTO. All are by CLASSIC SHADWAN out of daughters of ANSATA HALIM SHAH.
